The Toro River, sometimes called Toro Amarillo River, is a river of Costa Rica, belonging to the northern sub-slope of the Caribbean Sea. It is one of the most important tributaries of the Sarapiqui River.

It is born in the Palmira hills of the Central Volcanic mountain range, northwest of the Poás volcano, between the volcanoes Platanar and Porvenir, province of Alajuela. Its course crosses the cantons of Valverde Vega, Grecia, San Carlos and Sarapiquí. It should not be confused with another Toro Amarillo river that also belongs to the same slope, a tributary of the Sucio river, but which rises in the foothills of Turrialba volcano and crosses the province of Limón. This river is known in the country for forming high-altitude falls and beauty
